Shauna Huberty

I am the Owner and Primary Psychotherapist at Huberty Counseling & Brain Health.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the states of Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin. I have over 8 years of experience in the field of Social Work & Brain Health. My therapeutic lens utilizes culturally aware and evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy. Along with specialty training in ADHD, Complex Trauma Certification (CCTP I&II), and a Professional Certification in Teletherapy.

I have worked with adults of varying ages who experience depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, complex trauma, and relationship difficulties. Our sessions will be a collaborative experience. My top priority is to create a judgment-free & safe environment. I have a flexible approach that is client-driven. By working together, you will develop effective coping tools, grow insight into your personal strengths, and create long-term change.

I believe each person is unique and requires a unique treatment plan. Along with evidence-based treatment models, I use a Brain Health approach instead of Mental Health, Behavioral Health, or Mental Illness. Brain Health integrates what you eat and drink, how much you exercise, how well you sleep, how you socialize, and how you manage stress. I believe your Brain Health needs to be addressed with the same seriousness as any other physical disease.
