Confidentiality & Special Concerns

Information disclosed in session is confidential and may not be disclosed to anyone without written permission from you, the client. However, law requires the following exceptions to client confidentiality: Where there is suspicion or evidence of child or elder abuse, Where there is reasonable suspicion that the client presents danger to self or others, and court order.

If you choose to file insurance claims and you request a statement to do so, your statement and therapeutic notes will contain a diagnosis. This information becomes part of the client record and your medical record in perpetuity. Confidentiality cannot be guaranteed in groups. In working with couples and families, free flow of information is imperative, consequently your therapist is advised not to hold secrets and will always endeavor to facilitate difficult conversations between parties and do so within NASW legal and ethical guidelines. Your therapist will work with you to help you achieve your goals yet Huberty Counseling & Brain Health, LLC and your therapist cannot make any outcome guarantees. Wherever children are involved, we will always assume both partners love their children and want the best for them. It is the policy of Huberty Counseling & Brain Health, LLC to adhere to NASW legal and ethical guidelines and absent suspicion of child endangerment, Huberty Counseling & Brain Health, LLC and its affiliated therapists do not/will not side with or testify on behalf or against either parent.

Cancellation, Re-Schedule, Refund Policy

Huberty Counseling & Brain Health, LLC and its affiliated therapists and support staff are diligent about setting appointments that are convenient to the client and in alignment with best professional practice. When an appointment is scheduled, that time is reserved for the client. Huberty Counseling & Brain Health, LLC requires a full 24 hours notice for cancellations or reschedules. If you choose, for any reason not to attend or choose to reschedule an appointment without providing 24 hr. advance notice, full fee will be charged unless this involves a life-threatening emergency.

If you do not cancel your Initial Consultation/Assessment within 24 hrs. or do not attend, the full fee will be charged. If, after your Initial Consultation/Assessment, you proceed to additional sessions, either individual or couple, Huberty Counseling & Brain Health, LLC will assume you were satisfied with the information and experience provided in your Initial Consultation/Assessment and that you have forfeited the right to claim this guarantee.  Huberty Counseling & Brain Health, LLC and its affiliated therapists have different training modalities for therapy.
